Hisar is an archaeological site located on the border of the Jablanica and Veternica river valleys, near Leskovac, which has been inhabited since prehistoric times and represents the slopes of Mount Goljak. Numerous architectural and other objects were discovered in this area, which are of great importance when researching this climate. Thanks to its favorable strategic position and the gentle slopes of the Leskovac basin, Hisar has always been inhabited by people. The name of the hill comes from the period of the Ottoman Empire, when it denoted a fortification in the defense system, and the oldest center of black metallurgy in Europe was discovered on this site. In addition to its archaeological importance, Hisar is today a nature park and a popular picnic spot among the residents of Leskovac.
